Perfection at the hands of The English Concert, performing this heavenly opera with the most perfect cast I have ever witnessed in any ensemble performance. Everyone on that stage shone brightly. Feeling nothing but love and gratitude for each of the magnificent musicians and singers (especially Luca Pisaroni, Sasha Cooke, Iestyn Davies, and Jakub Jozef Orlinski) who shared their mastery, grace and joy with us on the highest level. I later asked Jakub about who had been in charge of the staging, and he said, “We sort of figured it out amongst ourselves.’ And they did it very, very well. It was fluid, dynamic, simple but effective, nailing the timing for entrances and exits perfectly.
